Content Blocks

• Site Content Blocks are small containers designed to display content across all pages within a section. One or more Site Content Blocks may be assigned to a section and sorted in the desired order. Generally, the design of the block will be established as part of the overall site’s design. But the content of each block can vary. Site Content Blocks provide flexibility in displaying content because they can make use of a different format than the page that they are placed on.

• The Home Page Block, as its name implies, appears on the home page only. The Home Page Block provides the flexibility to edit content that might otherwise be difficult to manage due to the complex HTML required by some home page designs. The placement of the block is determined by the site’s design. The content within the block is editable via the admin tools, but the position of the block on the home page is not editable. The concept of the Home Page Block can be extended for sites needing more than one block on the home page. For example, a Home Page Block could be used as a “What’s New” section on the home page.
